It is without question, one of the cheapest and most effective steps a homeowner can take is the installation of a home security systems with cameras that now stream live feeds to your phone anywhere in the world. This forum topic is all about the actual cameras people in the MRE and Viewpoint communities have installed, are considering, or ordered but not yet installed.
Hopefully, we can share herein the brands, perhaps links to the site where you purchased cameras, and any other information you can that helps us all better understand the reasoning of your purchase.
I’m running a Ring camera setup around the house. Floodlight Pros replacing the usual lightswitch activated lights. Doorbell cam up front. Ring Alarm Pro so it stores all video locally and has a cellular backup if internet goes down. Has caught mostly wildlife activity in the backyard, and lets us know via Ring chimes when people are in the driveway/frontdoor.
The dream setup would really be a BlueIris closed circuit system with Power over Ethernet to everything, but I’m renting and cannot go that far on rigging it up.
Jenn, I'm using my wife's tablet to create this comment. When you made the comment above, she got a notification in her tablet just like any other app would do. She can control those notifications like any other app as well.
These cameras are a really good idea!!
